Bites of My Life
/The 4th of July in the nation's capitol has a lot of build up that I was honestly afraid would let me down. Thank goodness I was wrong. Great company, great food and surprisingly perfect weather made for it to be one of my favorite weekends in DC.
Watching the fireworks from a rooftop where the top of the capitol and the Washington Monument were both in my view was pretty unforgettable. Here's to hoping that wasn't my last 4th of July in DC!
-My dinner from Tuesday night including fresh figs and avocado. Recipe here.
-I'm big into festive nails.
-Brain Freeze Wednesday with the SCOUT team.
-Coffee, an Argentina cookie and a notebook. The random goodies I leave at my intern friend's house with after having a mild peanut allergy attack scare.
-#myscoutbag selfies
-Corn cake ranchero salad at Farmers Fishers Bakers. The picture isn't doing it justice, but another great FFB meal.
-Friends in town for the 4th leads to the perfect weekend!
-Doing some size comparison to give you an idea at how large Jumbo Slice really is.
-Smoked salmon scramble round 2 at Kramer's for a 4th of July brunch!
-Taking a bite out of the most American food we can think of.
-Good Stuff Eatery has turned me into a burger person. Love having visitors in town to use them as an excuse to go to all of my favorite places.
-Oreo and toasted marshmallow shakes. We asked for the kiddie size, they gave us regular, there was no complaining.
-Last meal of the weekend at Hank's Oyster Bar. Too much fun with these weirdos.
-Calm Sunday morning coffee and pistachio morning roll at La Colombe. Sister Claire told me about it and I had been waiting to try it!
-Walking over 16th street in Logan Circle and quite a faraway glimpse of the White House.
