Bites of My Life

This is my 130 post and 30th "bites" post! It's been 30 weeks of taking a bite out of my life!
I've been trucking along in the library studying for finals. I only have two exams this week, so the light load is making things less stressful.
Last Thursday an ice/snow/winter mix storm came in leading to class being canceled on Friday. This was the first time I haven't wanted snow day. It's hard to enjoy a day off when everyone is in finals mode and still studying all day at the library.

{Bites from last week}
-Goodie bags of my favorite homemade snack mix packaged up to hand out as study snacks! (recipe tomorrow)
-A warm cup of coffee and a chocolate chip cookie to get through the afternoon at work
-The real snow outside was too cold, so one of my roommates and I opted for fake snow to play in.
-Second weekend at the pop-ups! The little igloo village was a site to see after it had been blanketed in snow!
I'll finish up with school this Friday then I'll be home for a whole month! I have lots of baking plans and a fun internship lined up. More on that later.
p.s. if you didn't see my "distractions" post last week, it is the perfect study break if you are hard at work during finals week too!

They are finally here! I have been mentioning the pop-ups for the past couple weeks now, well they are finally open and oh so wonderful!
Last weekend was opening weekend. The little igloos opened their doors on Black Friday, and I had the chance to head down to Midtown OKC and shop around! My boss from my internship this summer was the mastermind behind the whole village of igloo shops. It was so fun to see her and my other intern pal!
The ships are all placed up on a hill at the corner of 9th & Walker. Next to the shops is even a mini Christmas Tree lot!

The shops are open every weekend Thursday-Saturday 11-9 p.m. then on Sunday noon-6 p.m. This past weekend featured some of my favorite shops, Heirloom Shoe, Sara Kate Studios and Pencil Shavings Studio!
All of the shops did an amazing job of styling their lithe pop-ups. Pencil Shavings had some fab display. How great are these honeycomb balls hanging from the ceiling? Read Pencil Shavings blog post today to see more of her amazing shop!
If you are near the Oklahoma City area you have to come see this little igloo village of pop-up shops. They are a great way to stay local for your holiday shopping.
Chirps & Cheers, Blue Seven, Birdie, and Plenty Mercantile are some must see shops this weekend, and don't forget I will be at The Social Club pop-up December 20th and 21st.
